About The Position
Lifeways Nutrition is dedicated to providing care for overweight and obese patients, including those with and without medical conditions, as well as individuals interested in preventing hereditary medical issues. The Lifeways Precision Nutrition Program is currently seeking a part-time to near full-time experienced New York State Licensed, Certified Dietitian Nutritionists (CDN), and Registered Dietitians (RDN). This role is based in a private office located in the heart of Manhattan (Mid-town West). The successful candidate will utilize treatment methods grounded in clinical studies from both nutrition and psychology, focusing on patients with various conditions such as hyperlipidemia, Type II diabetes, kidney disease, high blood pressure, and digestive tract disorders. The primary responsibilities include managing patient cases from initial assessment to achieving goal weight, employing established treatment methods. This involves conducting thorough patient evaluations, creating individualized treatment plans aimed at normalizing brain and gut hormones, and providing counseling that enhances motivation and behavior modification strategies. The role also requires knowledge of health coaching practices and the implementation of physical activity programs. Additionally, the dietitian will maintain medical notes for each patient using an online patient database and participate in bi-weekly clinical team meetings, along with performing administrative tasks as needed. The dietitian will also support the Clinic Nutrition Manager and Psychologist with various duties as required.
