Learn more at tandemdiabetes.com A DAY IN THE LIFE: Directly responsible for the clinical services and, in partnership with a Territory Manager (“territory sales team”), the promotion and sale of Tandem Diabetes products within an assigned territory. The territory sales team will work together to plan and achieve sales goals through clinical acceptance of Tandem products. Identifies potential customers, establishes and develops business relationships which facilitate the sale of Tandem Diabetes' products and clinical services. Uses clinical expertise to provide clinical and sales support, and product education directly to trainers, physicians, and their staff. Provides Tandem product training and support to patients. Effectively leverages customer training and clinical expertise in the marketplace in order to generate positive clinical outcomes and sales. Please note that although the role is remote, the ideal candidate would be based in Albuquerque, New Mexico and able to travel throughout the area as needed. Clinical Diabetes Sales Specialists are also responsible for: CDSS maintains solid line reporting structure to the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) for all sales and business process responsibilities and goals. In partnership with Territory Manager (TM), covers assigned territory to ensure the territory meets or exceeds company sales goals as established by Sales Management. With TM, develops a business plan to promote new and maintain existing business in the territory. Uses business acumen to develop strategies and programs to address clinical needs or concerns. Efficiently uses available tools and resources to identify sales leads and gather the information required to determine if prospecting criteria have been satisfied. Effectively promotes Tandem’s unique market position, approach and value to the prospect (e.g., ability to integrate/coordinate with providers, impact on claims or other outcomes, clinical and technical differentiation from competitors). Leverages clinical expertise to create and implement strategic business plans (i.e.. short-term & long-term goals and objectives) for assigned Territory. Provides information in a professional manner to various health care professionals (HCPs-MDs, DOs, NPs, RNs, CDCESs, RPhs, etc.) to influence them to recommend/prescribe Tandem products/services when indicated as part of patients’ diabetes management plan. Provides products/services/clinical outcomes information directly to the consumer/end user via health fairs, conventions or in conjunction with promotions. Maintains knowledge of competitive products and market landscape in order to clinically and competitively sell against other products and therapies. Attends and participates in all corporate sales/clincial training, sales meetings, and assigned conventions, trade shows and symposia. Keeps records updated in the customer relationship management software (CRM), for all business dealings within assigned territory. Maintains all assigned company property, equipment, records, selling aids and samples in a manner consistent with company policies. Establishes and maintains a territory call cycle that will minimize administrative time and maximize time and effort spent with sales prospects and customers. Maintains expenses within established corporate guidelines and submits expense reports on a timely basis; exhibits personal integrity in dealing with all allowable business expenditures. Completes other assignments and sales reports as directed by Sales Management. PRIMARY CLINICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: CDSS maintains dotted line reporting structure to Regional Clinical Manager (RCM) for clinical responsibilities, goals and compliance. CDSS provides training, education, technical troubleshooting and support to customers (HCPs and patients) which complies with product labeling and follows accepted diabetes standards of care. Interacts with patients and HCPs (Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialists, Endocrinologists) in order to familiarize them with the benefits of Tandem Diabetes’ products and related services. Meets or exceeds annual clinical and training goals. Patient training and education: Coordinates, schedules, and delivers patient product trainings in the assigned territory. Ensures external referral decisions meet needs of HCP, patient, and Tandem business. Completes all product training, documentation and communication with HCPs in a thorough and timely manner per company policy. Maintains account-level training requirements and trainer details for efficient and effective training coordination. Conducts/promotes educational offerings for new and existing patients which support diabetes self-management skills, preparation for or optimization of automated insulin delivery to reach positive outcomes and customer retention. HCP Training and Education: Establishes and maintains excellent professional relationships with HCPs to support the sale and effective use of Tandem Diabetes products / services. Creates value for the HCP by differentiating Tandem Diabetes Care products and clinical services. Educates prospective and current customers regarding industry/healthcare trends, web-based solutions, Tandem products, services and outcomes, and/or other population health management topics. Selects contracted trainers based on territory business need and skill. Responsible for initial and ongoing certification of contracted and non-contracted Tandem Pump Trainers in the territory. Ensures external training quality supports Tandem’s training excellence scores. Conducts HCP wear experiences to promote knowledge and comfort with Tandem systems. Educates HCPs on the use of Tandem therapy management reports to optimize patient outcomes. Leverages clinical expertise to discuss published studies, account and individual clinical outcomes and successes in an effective and compliant manner. Shares successful field strategies with regional sales team for learning. Collaborates with Customer Technical Support and Clinical Support Specialist teams to identify and address post-sale product issues, and additional patient education/ training needs. Confirms completion of required training plan before assuming job responsibilities. Ensures work is performed in compliance with company policies including Privacy/HIPAA and other regulatory, legal, and safety requirements. Completes other assignments and reports as directed by Clinical Management. WHEN & WHERE YOU’LL WORK: Field Based and Hybrid: This position is field based and hybrid. We are open to candidates located in Albuquerque, New Mexico or neighboring cities. Equipment for the role will be provided and training will occur onsite and virtually. Schedule: This position will work Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM MST.
