About The Position

Valencia College is seeking an independent contracted Clinical Dentist to join its Dental Hygiene Program. This role is essential in supporting the hands-on training of dental hygiene students, contributing to the mission of providing high-quality, practical education to future dental hygiene professionals. The Clinical Dentist will oversee patient care in the dental hygiene clinic, ensuring compliance with Florida State Laws and Statutes.

Requirements

• Must be a dentist currently licensed and authorized to practice in the United States.
• Demonstrated training or experience in providing dental care with a proven track record of clinical competency.
• Active membership in the local dental community, maintaining professional relationships and networks.
• Familiarity with the field of dental hygiene education, including understanding of professional, legislative, and regulatory issues.

Responsibilities

• Support the College's clinical support staff and instructional faculty.
• Review and approve necessary patient care and administration of anesthesia under Florida Statute.
• Participate in program meetings as required by the program chair.
• Engage in cooperative involvement with the program director.
• Participate in program advisory boards.
• Ensure educationally appropriate interaction with students.
