About The Position

As Clinical Data Quality Lead, you will manage a team of Clinical Data Quality Managers and own the clinical integrity, consistency, and validity of all data collected across our non-interventional study portfolio. This will span data collected from medical records and primary data sources (e.g, patient-reported outcomes and virtual clinical assessments). This team of clinical data quality specialists defines how data should be collected for each study to ensure high quality, monitors quality and accuracy during data collection, and implements changes as needed throughout the study. This role bridges clinical insight, data quality strategy, and operational execution. You will define, monitor, and continuously improve how PicnicHealth ensures that its AI-powered research platform delivers trusted study datasets. You’ll collaborate closely with Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Data Management, Medical and Product teams to shape data standards and quality processes that scale. At PicnicHealth, AI is at the core of everything we do. We're looking for individuals who are not just comfortable with, but genuinely excited by and actively experimenting with, the power and potential of AI.

  • A bachelor’s degree in nursing, advanced practice degree (e.g. NP, PA, DNP, or equivalent), or similar clinical degree.
  • 7-10+ years of experience working in clinical data-related roles (e.g., data abstraction, clinical data quality, data management), particularly for observational and / or real-world research studies.
  • At least 5 years of direct people management experience and comfort managing both junior and senior team members.
  • Deep familiarity with data abstraction from medical records, designing CRFs and CRF completion guidelines, and communicating complex clinical concepts to other clinicians and scientists.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing data quality frameworks and quality monitoring plans.
  • A builder mindset that thrives in ambiguity and enjoys bringing order to chaos
  • Demonstrated experience building or scaling team processes, including creating SOPs and standard documentation.
  • Comfort working across multiple therapeutic areas and multiple concurrent research projects.
  • Excellent communication skills with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Focus on and successful experimentation with integrating AI into your standard practices and workflows, and ideas for new applications here at PicnicHealth.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally to support research study execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and scale a team of clinical data quality specialists, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Define and implement the overarching quality framework for your team, standardizing key processes like risk-based monitoring, quality thresholds, escalation management, and the development of all data collection materials (CRFs, CRF guidelines, eClinRO scripts, abstractor training, etc.).
  • Oversee study-specific plans for high-quality data collection, ensuring your team successfully applies the quality framework and defines clear data collection and monitoring plans for each new study.
  • Own the execution of all study data quality monitoring initiatives, directing your team to analyze trends (QC dashboards, source data verification findings, inter-rater reliability rates), implement CAPA, and serve as the primary escalation point for all study-level data quality issues.
  • Partner with Product teams to operationalize new data collection and quality workflows, ensuring your team can implement them consistently and scalably as our portfolio grows.
  • Facilitate strong cross-functional partnerships (e.g., Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Sales/Solutions, Medical, Data Operations, etc.), ensuring clinical and quality insights are provided at key points of the study lifecycle.
