About The Position

The Clinical Counselor at Clearbrook plays a vital role in the interdisciplinary and community support team, focusing on providing essential counseling services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Autism and Down Syndrome. This full-time position, based in Rolling Meadows, IL, requires a commitment of 35 hours per week. The Clinical Counselor is responsible for delivering both individual and group counseling sessions tailored to the needs of clients in Clearbrook's Day and Residential Programs. In addition to direct counseling, the Clinical Counselor will offer consultation to staff regarding clinical issues and provide educational services to families and guardians, ensuring they are well-informed about the support available to their loved ones. The Clinical Counselor's responsibilities extend beyond counseling; they are expected to assess the clinical support needs of clients as part of the interdisciplinary team. This includes maintaining thorough documentation of the clinical services provided and participating in meetings with consulting psychiatrists when necessary. The role also involves supervising student interns, which contributes to the professional development of future counselors. Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism is paramount, as the Clinical Counselor represents Clearbrook and its mission to support individuals with disabilities. Adherence to all established policies and procedures is required, along with the completion of mandatory annual training. The Clinical Counselor may also be assigned additional duties by the Director of Clinical Services as needed.
