The Clinical Counselor’s primary duty is the performance of work requiring advanced knowledge, discretion and judgment in the application of therapeutic interventions designed to improve the overall function and wellbeing of patients diagnosed with substance use disorders, mental illness, and/or co-occurring disorders. Includes completion of biopsychosocial assessments, providing individual, group and family therapy, case management and crisis intervention as needed. Position Logistics Full-time, 34-hour work week (4-days) Routinely 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM shifts Monday-Thursday, daytime and evening hours are required, flex schedule as approved by supervisor. We are open to hiring as a Clinical Counselor II, III or IV. Level and compensation will be commensurate with experience and education.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in social work or counseling field
  • Licensure as an LPHA (Licensed Physician; Licensed Psychiatrist; Licensed Psychologist; Licensed Psycho-educational Specialist; Licensed APRN; LISW-CP; LMSW, LPC; LMFT; LAC)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in performing the essential duties of the position for substance use/misuse populations are preferred.
  • Certification as ADC/AADC are highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Completes appropriate screening and/or biopsychosocial assessments for all patients upon admission
  • Provides evidence-based, best practice therapeutic interventions to individuals, groups, and families with substance use disorders, mental illness, and/or co-occurring disorders.
  • Utilizes crisis intervention counseling as necessary
  • Develops, maintains, monitors and updates, as necessary, individualized plans of care for assigned patients
  • Manages and monitors patient progress, identifies patient needs, and maintains clinical documentation in compliance with all applicable regulatory standards
  • Participates in regularly scheduled clinical supervision with assigned Program Manager
  • Collaborate with other members of the treatment team to provide case consultation and case management services to all patients
