The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Psychiatry, Division of Psychology, is seeking an outstanding clinical or counseling psychologist for a position in our Multi-Specialty Outpatient Clinic (MSOC). The position is primarily clinical. We are looking for a team-orientated psychologist who has an interest in honing their skills as a psychotherapist and developing a practice catered to specialty populations and diagnoses. You will join a diverse multidisciplinary therapy team that consists of psychologists, counselors, social workers, and marriage and family therapists who work collaboratively with psychiatrists and advanced practice providers (APPs) toward meeting the diverse mental health needs of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The Multispecialty Outpatient Clinic (MSOC) houses several specialty teams servicing various diagnoses and clinical needs. These include teams focused on Addiction and Substance Abuse, Sleep Hygiene, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Obsessive Compulsive Spectrum Disorders, Women’s Health, Eating Disorders, Geriatrics, Emerging and Young Adults, Early Onset Psychosis Treatment, Functional Neurological Disorders, Medical Complexity and Pain Psychology. We are seeking a psychologist who is passionate about working with individuals facing serious mental health challenges. This position offers the opportunity to dedicate a portion of your caseload to supporting patients living with conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other complex psychiatric presentations. While experience with early onset psychosis or related diagnoses is a plus, it is not required. We are looking for a candidate who shares our commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to this population. In addition, this position offers opportunities to conduct assessments for pre-surgical evals, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, personality assessment, as well as using testing to aid in differential diagnoses. UT Southwestern has an APA Accredited Doctoral Program in Clinician Psychology as well as an APA Accredited Internship that provides opportunities for teaching. There are also opportunities for supervision of psychology interns/practicum students, psychiatry residents, and social work fellows. Involvement in research is encouraged, and many opportunities exist for collaborative research efforts across the department.
