About The Position

Identify and promote the changes needed to provide cost-effective quality pharmacy benefits to members. Responsible for providing clinical pharmaceutical support through physician/pharmacist/member education and for the provision of clinical pharmacy services to members and affiliated providers. Schedule: PRN to support coverage for open shifts Shift Details: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm with some Saturdays Hybrid with occasional need to work at Select Health Murray office. Essential Functions Provides clinical pharmacy support for SelectHealth and affiliated members. Develops and implements innovative programs that promote the cost-effective and clinically appropriate use of pharmaceuticals. Analyzes pharmacy claims to identify areas of utilization aberrations and opportunities for cost-efficiencies. Researches, develops, and promotes scientific and clinically appropriate recommendations to physicians. Communicates these recommendations to patients and pharmacists in appropriate language. Develops protocols for the use of drugs requiring prior authorization. Responsible for pharmacy claims processing services, utilization management, and MTM services including Comprehensive Medication Reviews (CMR) interventions, and adherence monitoring interventions. Delivers clinical formulary support to employer groups.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy (will be verified).
  • State license to practice pharmacy and dispense controlled substances.

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical residency, PharmD degree, pharmacy experience in a managed care setting.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated research, writing and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of medical expense management.
  • Experience managing a pharmaceutical formulary and initiating therapeutic substitutions.
  • Computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Experience working with employer groups.
