About The Position

The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the clinical treatment of youth admitted to the Brooklyn RTF, including treatment planning, individual, family and group therapy. As an integral partner and treatment team leader, the Clinical Coordinator also guides the RTF team in a operationalizing the treatment plan and understanding the underlying mental health and trauma needs of the youth and families served.

Requirements

  • Must be over 21 years of age
  • Master’s degree in Social Work
  • LMSW certification required
  • Current CPR certification (provided at RTF)
  • Certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) (Provided at RTF)
  • Documented performance of exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Prior experience working with adolescents
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • On call 24/7 for urgent clinical needs of caseload.

Nice To Haves

  • LCSW certification (Preferred)
  • Working knowledge of psychiatric terminology, HIPPA regulations, DSM-V-TR, ICD, and CPT coding (Preferred)
  • 2 years of experience working in a psychiatric facility with adolescents/young adults (Preferred)
  • Experience with NY Systems including housing, child welfare, and education (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Direct clinical services for caseload of 7 youth in the Brooklyn RTF, including completion of clinical assessments, treatment/safety plans, discharge planning and conferences as required by the Office of Mental Health (OMH) and clinical best practices
  • Ensure treatment compliance with all requirements as required by licensing bodies, local and federal government, in addition to agency standards for best practices
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy as required to meet individualized goals for all youth on caseload
  • Act as lead of treatment team for individual caseload ensuring clear, consistent communication between all disciplines, and guiding the clinical interpretation and operationalization of treatment objectives in all areas of programming
  • In partnership with the Unit Leader, provide clinical and trauma-based supervision for Youth Advocates (YA) and Senior Youth Advocates (SYA), geared towards integration of mental health, rehabilitative services and clinical best practices into the milieu
  • Leads treatment conferences using a youth driven, family centered approach focused on goal attainment (in therapy, milieu and home/community), strengths, needs and barriers to discharge
  • Support the foundational practices and culture of Sanctuary and TCI via training, coaching of staff/youth/families and tools including, but not limited to, community and red flag meetings
  • Supports in the admission process, reviewing clinical documentation for incoming youth, engaging family and preparing for successful integration into the program
  • Collaborate with systems throughout NYS and NYC including ACS, various county DSS teams, DJJOY, etc
  • Work collaboratively with Transitional Coordinators to ensure treatment goals and objectives for youth and family are operationalized in the community and home, safety planning is in line with treatment progress and appropriate discharge services needs are met
