About The Position

The Clinical Coordinator serves as an administrative liaison and resource person throughout the practice facilitating, coordinating, and overseeing the process of patient care. This role is responsible for clinical staff, staff assignments, vacation calendar, department orientation of new staff, and patient education. The Clinical Coordinator provides support and guidance for clinical policies and procedures as well as ensures compliance with appropriate regulatory agency requirements.

Requirements

  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • 3 years of clinical experience, with at least 2 years in areas of specialty or related medical setting within the past 5 years.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse by the State Board of Nursing for South Carolina.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Demonstrates basic first aid knowledge.

  • Bachelor's in Nursing with 2 years of experience in areas of specialty within the past 5 years.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates, coordinates, and oversees the process of patient care.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and ensures harmonious relationships with other departments.
  • Demonstrates appropriate communication of information to patients and caregivers.
  • Responds to all patients and office staff requests and needs.
  • Responsible for medication management duties as directed by physician.
  • Prepares and maintains exam rooms, ensuring stock is at par levels.
  • Follows all equipment cleaning and sterilization procedures.
  • Rooms patients, conducts patient assessments, assists with procedures, implements physician orders, and documents clinical information.
  • Operates and maintains equipment, including routine maintenance and ordering of supplies.
  • Follows all department policies and procedures and ensures staff compliance.
  • Obtains precertification/authorizations as needed.
  • Complies with all coding documentation requirements.
  • Provides statistical reports to Practice Manager and Physicians as needed.
  • Assesses human resource needs and plans employee activities.
  • Manages human resources to assure safe and effective operations.
  • Reallocates nursing staff to meet patient care needs.
