MAJOR FUNCTION: The Clinical Coordinator will play a vital role in the daily operations of the urgent care and occupational health unit. This position combines clinical responsibilities with administrative tasks, ensuring that patient care is efficient, organized, and delivered in a professional manner. The Clinical Coordinator will work closely with healthcare providers, staff and patients to facilitate high-quality care and support a positive patient experience. QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience: High school graduate with graduating LPN program required. Clinical Experience: Minium of 2 years of previous urgent care, occupational health experience or related field. Certification/ Licensure: Completion of an accredited LPN program with licensure required. Knowledge & Skills: Must have critical thinking skills and maintain confidentiality. Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of medical terminology and/or behavioral health topics specifically in obstetrics. Strong decision making and prioritization skills. Ability to work respectfully and professionally with the community, patients, families, and staff. Sympathetic, mature, responsible, and reliable. Strong patient engagement, interpersonal, and communication skills and ability to establish a therapeutic relationship with the patient. Patient Care Coordination: Assist in patient assessments, taking vital signs, and preparing patients for examinations. Collaborate with physicians and staff to coordinate patient care plans. Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care. Engage in marketing efforts to promote occupational health services to local businesses, including outreach and presentations to potential clients. Maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, addressing their needs and ensuring satisfaction with services provided. Administrative Duties: Manage scheduling for patient appointments and follow-ups. Provide office scheduling support by coordinating staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for patient care. Build and maintain company profiles in the electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant systems. Process insurance verifications and assist patients with billing inquiries, completion of encounters with no charges. Complete and document random drug screen program, ensuring compliance with protocols. Oversee the administration of Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) and Drug Screen (DS) certifications, ensuring compliance. Generate and maintain reports related to urgent care and occupational health services and compliance. Clinical Support: Ensure that the unit is stocked with necessary medical supplies and equipment. Conduct initial assessments of patients to determine medical needs, including vital signs, health history and presenting symptoms. Perform immunizations, intramuscular and subcutaneous injections, and assist with medication administration as per protocols and providers orders. Provide care for minor wounds, including cleaning, dressing and education on wound care techniques. Work closely with providers and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans and ensure continuity of care. Assist in procedures and treatments as directed. Ensure that the unit meets infection control standards and maintains a safe environment for patients and staff. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with managers to develop and implement departmental goals and strategies. Maintain effective communication with physicians, specialists, and other health care providers. Represent the urgent care and occupational health departments in meetings and committees as required.
