The position is for a part-time nurse in the SICU/CVICU department, working the PM shift from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. The nurse will provide operational shift oversight, delegate care to staff, and facilitate timely patient admission, transfer, and discharge.   • Promotes patient's independence by establishing patient care goals and providing education.
  • Serves as patient/family advocate.
  • Maintains continuity among nursing teams by documenting accurately and timely.
  • Uses a systematic critical-thinking approach to guide data gathering and assessment.
  • Identifies and interprets sources of data using clinical judgement.
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Uses ethical decision-making processes and advocates for acceptable patient outcomes.
  • Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards.
  • Resolves patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
  • Participates in process/performance improvement activities.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment.
  • Documents all patient care activities accurately and timely.
  • Provides safe, appropriate, quality of care and support to patients and family members.
  • Holds team members accountable for standards of care.
  • Serves as a teacher, coach, and mentor to staff.
  • Contributes to the development and revision of unit standards.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • 2 years of experience in areas of specialty within the past 5 years.
  • Current RN license to practice in the State of South Carolina.
  • National nursing certification in specialty at time of hire or must obtain within 6 months.
  • ADN or Diploma nursing degree with enrollment in RN to BS or RN to MS program.
