Requirements

• Hold a Baccalaureate Degree or higher from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE). Foreign degrees will need to be evaluated by an external review service to determine eligibility.
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist; with at least two (2) years of experience in clinical respiratory care
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/ preceptor for students of such programs.
• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Valid California Respiratory Care Practitioner license from the CA Respiratory Care Board
• Hold a CA Career Technical Education Teaching Credential: Health Science and Medical Technology OR
• Qualify for a CA CTE credential (high school diploma and three years of relevant industry work experience in the last 10 years with one year in the past three years. One year equals a minimum of 1000 clock hours and the experience may be full-time or part-time, paid or unpaid.
