A little about us Since 1971, the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board has provided a comprehensive continuum of high-quality, essential, and community-based services to citizens of the Peninsula who are living with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders. As the Clinical Coordinator I in the Juvenile Justice Services program at Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, you will play a pivotal role by providing clinical consultation to the Juvenile Court Services Unit. Your responsibilities will include screening, assessment, case management, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and coordinating referrals, ensuring that clients and their families receive the necessary behavioral health care. You will be instrumental in facilitating timely access to H-NNCSB's comprehensive continuum of services, ensuring that services are responsive to individual service plans. Additionally, you will provide information about H-NNCSB services to the Juvenile Court Services Unit staff, enabling them to deliver effective and least restrictive care. Your expertise will contribute to meeting clients' identified needs compassionately and professionally, reinforcing the organization's commitment to excellence and client-centered service.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling with one year of experience working with emotionally troubled children and affected families in a clinical setting.
  • Knowledge and experience with DSM 5 diagnosing.
  • Experience in case management functions.
  • Must provide proof of registration for supervision toward licensure with the Virginia Department of Health Professionals (LPC or LCSW) within 90 days of employment.
  • The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
