About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Sunnyvale is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Corrdinator - CST to serve as coordinator for a specific line(s) of services, responsible for managing case readiness, instrumentation, and specialty equipment to support complex procedures. Collaborates closely with surgeons, anesthesia, nursing, and supply chain to ensure preference cards are accurate, implants and trays are available, and workflows align with best practices and regulatory standards. Provides clinical expertise in service-specific service line(s) procedures while supporting efficiency, patient safety, and optimal surgical outcomes. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or Surgical Services Technologist program.
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse license.
  • Current AHA BLS Certification.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Nice To Haves

  • Academic degree in nursing (Bachelor's or Master’s degree) or certification as a Surgical Services Technologist.
  • Additional languages preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee assigned surgical service line(s) to ensure case readiness, efficiency, and standardization.
  • Serve as the primary clinical liaison between surgeons, anesthesia, nursing, sterile processing, supply chain, and vendors.
  • Manage and maintain surgeon preference cards, ensuring accuracy, standardization, and timely updates.
  • Responsible for the service line program(s) development, quality assessment, education, improvement and inter/intra disciplinary communications.
  • Coordinate specialty instrumentation, implants, and equipment to support complex surgical procedures.
  • Monitor case scheduling needs and proactively address resource gaps to prevent delays or cancellations.
  • Coordinates the development, implementation, review, and revision of Program standards, policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Leads and participates in program performance improvement processes.
  • Monitors the Operational Efficiency of the Programs.
  • Provides collaborative communication to the department director and leadership team.
  • Collaborate with sterile processing to ensure proper tray availability, turnaround times, and quality assurance.
  • Support inventory management, including implant tracking, consignment management, and cost containment initiatives.
  • Assist with onboarding and education of staff related to service line–specific procedures, equipment, and workflows.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, throughput, and surgical outcomes.
  • Collect, analyze, and report service line data to support operational and clinical decision-making.
  • Support surgeon engagement and satisfaction through proactive communication and problem resolution.
  • Assist leadership with planning, implementation, and evaluation of new technology, equipment, and procedures.
  • Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
