About The Position

The Clinical Coordinator for Cardiovascular Sonography is responsible for overseeing the planning, delivery, and evaluation of educational instruction in the Cardiovascular Sonography Program. This role includes managing clinical practicum activities, ensuring optimal student learning, and providing necessary support services. The coordinator will also engage in curriculum development, student advising, and compliance with clinical requirements, while reporting directly to the Program Director for Medical Sonography and Cardiovascular Sonography.

Requirements

  • Minimum associate's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification in Adult Echocardiography (AE).
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer.
  • Documented experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, and student guidance.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred qualifications in additional sonography credential(s).

Responsibilities

  • Teaches a minimum of 18 contact hours per week in a flexible schedule as determined by the program needs.
  • Prepares syllabi and instructional plans for each class session in accordance with course objectives.
  • Assumes responsibility for laboratory/classroom preparation and maintenance.
  • Provides regular feedback to students, including grading assignments and offering additional assistance as needed.
  • Actively participates in online learning processes with students through various communication methods.
  • Contributes to curriculum development and evaluation, utilizing educational resources for improvement.
  • Assists in the development and revision of course outlines, syllabi, and instructional documentation.
  • Determines students' clinical placements and schedules, ensuring readiness for clinical placement.
  • Conducts clinical orientations and ensures compliance with clinical agency requirements.
  • Develops and manages clinical documents and evaluation tools, maintaining evaluation results.
  • Provides support and training for clinical instructors and preceptors as needed.
  • Makes regular visits to clinical agencies during clinical rotations to monitor student progress.
  • Serves as the first point of contact for resolving clinical issues or concerns.
  • Ensures clinical agreements are current and provisions are met.
  • Identifies and evaluates clinical agencies, facilitating necessary agreements.
  • Acts as an educational advisor to students and participates in advising and registration activities.
  • Participates in recruitment activities for the program.
  • Assists in developing and enforcing policies related to student admission and progression.
  • Maintains office and student records, processing required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Participates in student disciplinary proceedings and grievance procedures.
  • Represents the program in institutional assignments and community affairs.
  • Attends professional development opportunities to stay current in the field.
  • Maintains confidentiality in accordance with college, FERPA, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Maintains communication and supportive relationships with all work units of the division and college.
