About The Position

UnityPoint Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical CMA, LPN, or RN to join our family medicine team in Johnston, Iowa. This role is vital in providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player with excellent communication and clinical skills, ready to support a wide variety of patient care duties under the direction of providers.

Requirements

• For Certified Medical Assistant (CMA): Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and active CMA certification required through one of the following organizations: AAMA, NCCT, AMT, or NHA.
• For Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Current Iowa LPN license in good standing.
• For Registered Nurse (RN): Current Iowa RN license in good standing.
• All Candidates Must Have: Current BLS certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in a clinical outpatient setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and reason for visit.
• Administer medications and injections as directed by providers.
• Assist with minor procedures and examinations.
• Perform point-of-care testing, EKGs, immunizations, and specimen collection.
• Accurately document in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Provide patient education and follow-up care instructions.
• Manage patient phone calls, prescription refills, and communication between patients and providers.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of exam rooms and equipment.
• Support front office and clinical workflows to ensure a smooth patient experience.
• Follow all clinical protocols and regulatory requirements to ensure patient safety.
