About The Position

We specialize in the areas of brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury and complex medical conditions. We offer inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services to patients 15 years of age and older. RHI is the only Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Model System in the state of Indiana and one of only 16 in the U.S. Our Occupational Therapy department has been highlighted by the American Occupational Therapy Association in the OT Practice publication (Feb 2021) for RHI's implementation of patient-centered, occupation-based care. Summary The Clinical Charge Nurse (CCN) is a registered nurse with a keen interest in Rehabilitation Nursing who holds a CRRN specialty and has a history of demonstrated clinical expertise and leadership. The Clinical Charge Nurse is responsible for managing all aspects of the care of patients on their assigned unit for their shift.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a RN or related position
  • Current Indiana State Board of Nursing Licensure and Registration
  • CRRN required
  • Graduate of accredited School of Nursing

  • BSN preferred

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates expertise in complex clinical nursing skills with the rehabilitation population served
  • Participate in the evaluation of unit-based activities, holding staff accountable for rounding, beside handoff, use of white boards and timely response to call lights
  • Mentors staff, including new orientees and is a demonstrated role model for staff
  • Maintains a cooperative and professional relationship among all members of the health care and program model teams by communicating information clearly, responding to requests openly
  • Focused on providing customer satisfaction including but not limited to patients, co-workers, visitors, vendors and physicians
