About The Position

As a member of the University Counseling Center team, the Clinical Case Manager/Therapist is responsible for the assessment and delivery of case management, outpatient mental health services and community outreach services. These services include consultation, prevention services, crisis intervention and outreach support to faculty, staff and student organizations. This position oversees clinical case management needs and care coordination for inpatient psychiatry admissions and discharges as well as outpatient intensive care services.

Requirements

Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Marital and Family Therapy or Professional Counseling (or related degree) with training and experience with crisis intervention and case management
three years of related post-licensure experience
Full Clinical Licensure (LCSW, PhD/PsyD, LMFT, LPC)- State of Missouri or e ligibility for Missouri licensure verified through active out-of-state licensure and an application currently in process with the Missouri licensing board
Possesses a high level of personal and professional integrity, strong sense of ethics and ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality
Strong written and verbal communication skills; public speaking and presentation skills

Responsibilities

Oversees the assessment, planning and coordinating of care for students navigating healthcare systems and community resources; assist students with psychosocial needs and connection to clinically appropriate services
Refers students to off-campus clinical services for specialized treatment and/or long-term therapy as appropriate
Assists in ensuring smooth transition from crisis intervention to case management; coordinates transition to local behavioral urgent care and/or emergency room when clinically recommended
Consults and collaborates with counselors, psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, and administrators, including the Dean of Students office, to ensure continuity of care for hospitalized students; tracks, monitors and follows up on case management outcomes for disposition planning and management of students with mental health needs
Monitors behavioral triage phone line dashboard to ensure the coordination of appropriate follow-up services for students
Establishes professional relationships and/or partnerships with external agencies and organizations via MOUs/formal agreements; maintains and coordinates updating of community referral database
Provides outreach and education about UCC service offerings to campus partners, staff, faculty and student organizations via workshops, presentations, etc.
Participate in student well-being committees and UCC initiatives
Conduct phone, in-person and/or virtual triage and wellness consultation and intake assessment appointments
Provide psychotherapy/counseling services for students as individuals and/or in groups; offer crisis intervention services to students with clinical emergencies
Using nationally and internationally recognized diagnostic systems, diagnose student and develop and implement treatment plans consistent with clinical diagnosis
Maintain compliance with mandatory local, state and federal reporting laws and professional and ethical standards and guidelines
Maintain a knowledge of federal, state, and local mental health system and well-being resources
Keep timely, accurate, and ethical records consistent with UCC policy
