Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in social work or related field, is required.
• One to two years of related experience is required.
• Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Social Worker Associate through the South Dakota Board of Social Work Examiners.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Willingness to submit to record checks to detect criminal convictions of behavior harmful towards children, spousal abuse, distributing drugs or sex crimes.
• Requires a valid driver’s license/auto-insurance or the ability to obtain one with approved driver status.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients’ needs, and assist them with appropriate services, support, decisions and plans in accordance with LSSSD services.
• Coordinate appropriate resources, as needed, i.e. legal, financial, medical, psychological, other community resources, etc.
• Provide follow-up counseling and/or referrals as needed.
• Complete reports in timely and efficient manner in accordance with Agency and governmental standards.
• Promote the program and the client referral system throughout the community.
• Develop and maintain working relationships with staff/residents.
• Attend and participate in weekly treatment team meetings and staff meetings.
