The Department of Pathology is seeking a Clinical Care Services Supervisor (Medical Lab Scientist Supervisor) to verify, monitor and oversee molecular infectious disease, viral and/or bacteriologic in vitro testing to provide data for use in the treatment and diagnosis of disease and supervises the operational activities of a small self-contained laboratory or a unit within a larger laboratory. This includes preparing patient specimens for mail out testing. Verify, monitor and oversee specified routine and STAT tests which may involve numerous steps and techniques that require the use of judgment and problem solving skills. Ensures the smooth, efficient operation of a clinical laboratory. Monitors for accurate performance of approved procedures while troubleshooting and ensuring training and instruction. It is the responsibility of the lead scientist to continuously interact and consult with Director of Microbiology, Sectional Leadership, Quality Engineer, Lab Manager and Sectional Directors. This position is 100% time, 0800-1630, Monday - Friday. The Department of Pathology is part of UI Health Care, a comprehensive health sciences center that serves Iowa and the region, as well as patients referred from the United States and overseas.
