About The Position

The Clinical Care Coordinator collaborates with unit and organizational leadership to assist with planning, monitoring, quality improvement, and evaluation of patient care. This position will oversee staff onboarding and education needs as well as participate in performance improvement initiatives and strategic goal achievement.

Requirements

  • Wyoming Registered Nurse (RN) License or enhanced Nurse Licensure (eNLC)
  • Two (2) or more years of clinical experience in an acute care setting
  • Cheyenne Regional AHA RQI within 14 calendar days of start date
  • 30 Days to 2 years: Additional requirements/certifications as noted in the Specialty Certification Requirements and Mandatory Requirements for Specialty Units lists below
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Expert knowledge of clinical practices, policies, and procedures
  • Adult and clinical teaching skills
  • Excellent computer skills including data collection, interpretation, and analysis
  • Ability to demonstrate an independent work initiative, attention to detail, sound judgement, and time management
  • Ability to multitask and manage stress in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interact respectfully with diverse cultural and socio-economic populations

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing within two (2) years
  • Leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership support in unit onboarding, scheduling, training, performance, and development of new and existing staff.
  • Collaborates with leadership and Clinical Education to provide support to and routine check-ins with new staff. This includes assisting in the development of new grad RNs.
  • Assists with mandatory education oversight, mentoring, guidance, and competency of unit staff.
  • Participates in professional development and performance improvement initiatives, associated dashboards, and strategic planning.
  • Promotes a culture of safety and quality by consistently maintaining a safe environment for patients, family, and staff. Ensures compliance with National Patient Safety Standards.
  • Practices fiscal responsibility and accountability. Assists leadership with operational and supply budgets and promotes appropriate utilization. Makes recommendations for expenditures and provides required data.
  • Assists in the development of both simple and complex clinical policies and procedures.
  • Performs audits, prepares reports, takes part in quality improvement activities, and completes follow-up education and training as needed.
  • Performs patient rounding as needed to assess situations, patient care needs, and outcomes. Reviews documentation for accuracy and effectiveness of nursing interventions.
  • Collaborates with the healthcare team to resolve patient, family, or physician complaints in a timely manner. Provides service excellence and improves patient satisfaction. Escalates concerns/complaints as necessary.
  • Acts as a clinical expert and unit lead for ensuring best practices.
  • Attends meetings as requested.
  • Provides delivery of direct patient care as needed and within scope of license. Covers open shifts and participates in on-call when required.
