About The Position

The position involves collaborating with the Interdisciplinary Team in various settings to ensure that the emotional, spiritual, religious, and psychosocial needs of patients, families, and employees related to the patient’s illness are addressed. The role requires effective leadership in the development and implementation of spiritual care programs and services for the Seidman Cancer Center, CMC, and community partners. The individual will ensure the effective and efficient delivery of services to support patients, families, and staff while creating and maintaining a positive work environment. Additional responsibilities include performing other duties as assigned, complying with all policies and standards, and maintaining the confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI) as per the organization's requirements.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Divinity or Theology or 15 years of chaplain experience.
  • Completion of 4 units (1600 hours) of Clinical Pastoral Education.
  • 3+ years experience providing spiritual care in ministry or healthcare field.
  • Excellent communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Ability to collaborate well with a variety of disciplines.
  • Ability to work closely with oncology employees to identify and respond to their needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Ordination and Ecclesiastical Endorsement.
  • Experience with end-of-life, trauma, bereavement, pediatric and adult care.
  • Board Certified Chaplain (BCC).

Responsibilities
