About The Position

The Radiological Technologist / Clinical Care Attendant position at Hiwatha Pecks Landing Express Clinic involves performing quality control activities on radiation emitting equipment and assisting with clinical procedures under the supervision of a Provider. The role requires greeting patients, completing patient registration, and ensuring patient comfort during their visit. The position is full-time, consisting of three 12-hour shifts from 8 am to 8 pm during the week and every third weekend rotation. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program for Radiology Technology.
  • ARRT certified.
  • Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
  • BLS certification.
  • Knowledge of Urgent Care medical specialty.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of health system EMR.
  • Requires clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to plan and evaluate patient care.
  • Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including exceptional customer service and phone etiquette.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control activities on radiation emitting equipment and darkroom equipment to ensure optimum image quality.
  • Complete appropriate forms for recordkeeping and properly store films.
  • Employ proper radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
  • Perform and/or assist with clinical procedures consistent with training and licensure under supervision of Provider in exam suite.
  • Greet and welcome patients immediately upon arrival to the clinic.
  • Escort patients back to exam suite and complete patient registration and associated paperwork.
  • Assist in the delivery of primary health care services and patient care management by performing diagnostic imaging in an ambulatory setting.
  • Obtain patients review of systems and history, measure vital signs, and complete all necessary documentation in patient’s chart.
  • Offer patient convenience items to ensure patient comfort in exam suite and/or lobby.
  • Follow symptom initiated protocols in place for clinic operation.
  • Perform labs as ordered/instructed either by protocols or provider.
  • Review after visit summary and provide instructions to patient as instructed by Provider.
  • Call all patients back 48-72 hours post clinic visit to perform mandatory follow up phone call.
  • Maintain exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies and sterilize instruments as required.
  • Take, relay, and process messages from patient, Provider, pharmacy consistent with training and licensure.
  • Maintain all logs and required checks consistent with UPC policy.
