About The Position

UnityPoint Clinics is seeking a motivated and patient-focused Clinical Care Attendant to join our Express Care Clinic in Waukee, IA. In this role, you will support healthcare providers in delivering efficient and high-quality care to patients seeking immediate medical attention. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program and current licensure/certification for your scope of practice.
  • LPN, EMT, Paramedic or CMA will be considered for this position.
  • Must be accredited program + for CMA - certification required NCCT, AAMA, NHA or AMT.
  • 1-2 years’ work experience in a Family Practice setting, Urgent Care, or related field.
  • BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in using electronic medical record systems.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.
  • Record vital signs, patient history, and symptoms accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Prepare examination rooms, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and ready for use.
  • Administer basic treatments such as wound care, splinting, and administering injections as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Provide patients with post-visit instructions and guidance on follow-up care.
  • Assist with diagnostic tests, such as collecting lab specimens or performing EKGs, under the direction of medical staff.
  • Facilitate patient flow by ensuring timely rooming of patients and managing appointment schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care and provide education on self-care and health maintenance.
  • Ensure the clinic complies with infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for both patients and staff.
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, handling referrals, and answering patient inquiries.
