Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) with a current NYS license
  • 3-5 years acute care experience as an RN in a fast-paced hospital setting, is required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Technology: Proficiency with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Meditech, Cerner) and patient management systems.
  • Understanding of nursing care needs, medical terminology, and patient safety regulations.
  • Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced "air traffic control" environment.
  • Solid understanding of patient throughput metrics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • A Clinical Bed Coordinator optimizes hospital patient flow by managing bed assignments, balancing unit census, and coordinating admissions, discharges, and transfers.
  • As a central liaison between Emergency, Surgical, and Nursing units, they ensure timely, appropriate patient placement to maximize efficiency, reduce wait times, and maintain high-quality care.
