About The Position

The Clinical Audiologist at Cleveland Clinic's Beachwood Family Health and Surgery Center provides essential clinical audiology services, including diagnostic testing and patient education regarding hearing loss and hearing aids. This role involves working collaboratively with a dedicated team to enhance patient care and outcomes in a supportive environment.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Audiology (AuD) or a Master's degree in Audiology for current employees.
  • Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology license to practice audiology upon hire.
  • Obtain certificate of Clinical Competence Audiology (CCC-A) by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) within the new hire period.
  • Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), Supervised Professional Experience (SPE) Year, or equivalent experience.
  • Broad knowledge of diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology clinical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic audiological test procedures to evaluate patient's hearing status, auditory pathway function, and communicative function.
  • Interpret and report test results to facilitate medical diagnosis.
  • Provide counseling and education about hearing loss, hearing aids, and communication to patients and their families.
  • Perform electroacoustic analysis of hearing aids and conduct hearing aid checks and minor repairs.
  • Supervise student externs, clinical fellows, fourth-year Au.D students, and otolaryngology residents as requested.
  • Assist with planning, budgeting, service or project development, fee setting, and purchasing of new equipment or materials.
  • Conduct daily and monthly equipment checks and biological calibrations.
  • Assist with electroacoustic calibration of equipment as needed.
