About The Position

The primary purpose of the Audiology Technician position is to provide newborn screening and follow-up services including but not limited to hearing screening and patient data management activities under the direction of the Lead Clinical/Senior Clinical Audiologist.

Requirements

  • Master’s or doctoral degree in Audiology required from an accredited program in Audiology.
  • Certificate in Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech and Hearing Association required.
  • Licensed in the State of New Jersey as verified by the Board of Consumer Affairs. License must be maintained in good standing.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
  • Must meet licensure CEU requirements.
  • Must be CPR certified or complete certification within six (6) months of employment.
  • Must be computer proficient.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (Spanish, Portuguese or American Sign Language) is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Works collaboratively with faculty and staff to maintain a timely and organized flow of patients and visitors throughout their experience in Ambulatory Care Services and with University Hospital.
  • Performs newborn hearing screening (in-patient).
  • Performs out-patient hearing re-screenings and follow-up.
  • Performs data collection and data entry.
  • Maintains safe and clean environment; provides for the patient’s comfort and safety.
  • Provides general office assistance including answering the telephone, scheduling patients, completing reports, gathering statistical data, using the electronic medical records system, filing, copying, and other duties as assigned.
