About The Position

Provide exceptional health care delivery to athletic programs by promoting holistic student-athlete success and experiences through prevention evaluation, programming for rehabilitation, self-care and wellness. Set athletic training clinic times and home event coverage allows for work/life balance of the staff.

Requirements

Excellent verbal and written communication.
Proficient use of athletic training supplies and equipment, therapeutic modalities, computer, and software.
Ability to manage several injuries at one time during an athletic event while maintaining a calm demeanor and providing professional care.
Demonstrated teamwork mindset prioritizing the student athlete at all times.
Bachelor's degree in athletic training or in a related field
Certified athletic trainer
Ohio OTPTAT Board Licensure
Current CPR for Professional Rescuer/BLS

Responsibilities

Work in cooperation with the Head Athletic Trainer in all aspects of the health care of the student-athletes, such as evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries incurred by the intercollegiate student-athletes.
Provide onsite care and management of injuries and illnesses including prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation.
Assess risk of injury, self-care implementation and overall wellness promotion.
Complete electronic documentation of patient encounters into PyraMed (EMR).
Execute medical care for student-athletes per sports medicine standard operating procedures.
Coordinate and implement injury prevention programs and customized preventative strategies and programs to each patient.
Collaborate with campus partners and athletic department staff regarding the safety and well-being of student athletes.
Communicate with physicians and coaching staff regarding the injury status of athletes.
Provide medical care during open clinic times and home athletic events.
Travel to away contests as determined by Head Athletic Trainer.
