Clinical Athletic Trainer / Falcon Health Center / Full Time The Orthopedic Physician Extender provides assistance to the Physician and Physician's Assistant with daily administrative and clinical duties.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in athletic training
License: Ohio athletic training license
Experience: None
Certification: Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers
BLS

Nice To Haves

Experience: Two (2) years’ experience in orthopedics, sports medicine or surgery preferred

Responsibilities

Perform detailed patient assessments by obtaining medical histories, conducting physical and functional evaluations, and documenting all clinical findings accurately in the clinical information system.
Provide patient education and instruction on preoperative preparation, postoperative protocols, wound care, mobility training, and rehabilitation exercises to promote optimal recovery and outcomes.
Remove and apply dressings, sutures, casts, and splints, fitting and instructing patients on durable medical equipment (DME) and assistive devices following aseptic technique and all physician direction.
Collaborate with the surgical and clinical team to coordinate care, ensure compliance with quality and safety standards, manage referrals and scheduling, and support a patient-centered environment.
Prepare, prevent, protect and respond to support our culture of safety.
Works hours per week in accordance with offer letter or per attributes of position at transfer request.
May be expected to work longer hours as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
