About The Position
The University of Chicago's Department of Pediatrics, Section of Hospital Medicine, is seeking part-time pediatric hospitalists to join our team at Comer Children's Hospital. This position is designed for individuals who are committed to providing high-quality care to the children of the South Side of Chicago. The role involves a 10% effort commitment for renewable terms of up to two years, allowing for flexibility while contributing to a vital healthcare service in the community. As a pediatric hospitalist, you will assist with open shifts in various areas of pediatric medicine, including newborn care, complex care, and emergency department consultations. You will also provide coverage at Comer Children's Hospital and in a specialty pediatric hospital that focuses on extended acute care for children with chronic conditions. This position is ideal for those who thrive in a collaborative environment and are dedicated to working as part of a dynamic and exceptional team of pediatric hospitalists. It is important to note that these positions do not require teaching or scholarly activity, allowing you to focus solely on patient care. Compensation for this role is paid per clinic visit, and it does not include additional benefits. Qualified applicants must meet specific criteria before starting employment, including holding a medical doctorate or equivalent, being eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and having completed an ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program or being eligible or certified in General Pediatrics.
