As a clinical associate, you will provide basic clinical services to patients and clerical support to the unit health-care team. The pre-anesthesia preparation unit is a fast-paced department aimed at focusing on quality presurgical care that fosters patient safety and successful surgical outcomes. We are a 25-bed unit located on 4 South and 4 East serving the main OR, endoscopy, and other procedural areas. The preoperative phase of care includes a patient assessment, a physical preparation of the patient through performing labs, diagnostic studies, and other care items such as IV insertion and medication administration, a psychological preparation of the patient to reduce anxiety associated with having surgery, and patient teaching. Communication and interdisciplinary teamwork serve as a essential link to ensuring safe and quality patient care. This position is full time, working the day shift with every other weekend and rotating holidays Please note - employee must attend mandatory orientation classes during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm for the first 2 weeks of employment. All classes require to be in person except for 2 online classes.
