Responsible for providing and coordinating orthopedic patient care which includes performing routine office procedures and testing, participating in patient teaching, completing triage which includes the delivery, management and coordination of telephone live calls and Voice Mail; Tasks; Fax etc. Communicating effectively with others and assisting the physician/mid-level provider in the delivery of patient care. Typical shift ranges between : 7:00am - 5:30pm (Monday - Friday) The Clinical Assistant is responsible for providing and coordinating orthopedic patient care which includes performing routine office procedures and testing, participating in patient teaching, communicating effectively with others, and partnering with the physician/mid-level provider in the delivery of patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program for medical assistants, athletic training, or nursing. Or Experience plus certification.
  • Certification is required.
  • CMA/RMA must be registered/certified through one of the following national organizations: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National HealthCareer Association (NHA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), or American Medical Certification Association (AMCA)
  • EMTs will need Emergency Medical Technician certification. National Certification is accepted, following guidelines set forth by the National board that State certification is required upon recertification.
  • ATCs will need to be board certified as Athletic Trainer
  • New graduates are welcome
  • Travel to other OC locations may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Updating clinical notes in electronic medical systems (EPIC)
  • Completing phone triage
  • Casting, splinting, and DME application
  • Performing routine office procedures
  • Providing patient education
