About The Position

The Clinical Assistant is responsible for providing patient care to patients by assisting with diagnostic tests, procedures and treatments ordered by the physician in a family practice environment. This is a part-time (0.5) position working 2-3 days per week out of our Chaska and Watertown location. Catalyst Medical Clinic is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare. Essential Functions: Escorts the patient to the Clinical Support area. Take height and weight. Verify visit reason. Checks immunization record and update as needed. Inquires about medications, allergies, and smoking status at each visit. Take BP, temperature, pulse, respiration, head and chest measurement pertinent to exam. Prepares room as needed for specified visit type. Assists with laceration and set up surgical tray. Assists with excision of moles or lesions. Give specimen to lab for send out. Administers injection, SQ, IM, and ID. Retrieves calls regarding patient health problems, documents and routes calls. Calls in new prescriptions and refills to the pharmacy after provider has reviewed and approved. Calls patient with normal lab results, or normal results that have been reviewed by the physician with specific instructions by provider. Checks provider’s out box and review all papers in the box to ensure they are initialed by the provider prior to going to medical records for scanning. Fully participate and contribute to the patient centered health care home. Any and all other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED or equivalent
• 1 year of clinical experience preferred
• Ability to: Comply with company policies, procedures, practices, and business ethics guidelines.
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, (e.g. HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.)
• Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance.
• Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately, and meet deadlines.
• Prioritize workload effectively.
• Communicate respectfully and professionally in face-to-face, phone and email interactions.
• Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
