This position will work 30 hours per week with a flex schedule (7:30am-5:30pm). The Clinical Assistant is responsible for providing and coordinating orthopedic patient care which includes performing routine office procedures and testing, participating in patient teaching, communicating effectively with others, and assisting the physician/mid-level provider in the delivery of patient care.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited program for medical assistants, athletic training, nursing or a college degree in a related field
CMA/RMA must be registered/certified through one of the following national organizations: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National HealthCareer Association (NHA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) American Medical Technologists (AMT) American Medical Certification Association (AMCA)
EMTs will need Emergency Medical Technician certification
ATCs will need to be board certified as Athletic Trainer
New graduates are welcome
Active & Current Driver’s license/ Clean driving record
Travel to other OC locations may be required.
Graduate of an accredited program for medical office assistants or college degree in biological sciences.
Certification from American Association of Medical Assistants or Registered through American Medical Technologies
Registered or Licensed Nurse
Athletic Trainer
CPR certification or ability to obtain.
Valid driver’s license to travel to meetings and other offices.
Knowledge of EMR (Epic)
Ability to triage patient telephone calls. Gather pertinent facts; be as accurate and concise as possible to assess patient health status and act as liaison between patient and provider.
Ability to clearly and effectively educate patients, families and staff regarding the full scope of patient care needs related to the care of patients with orthopedic problems.
Communicate effectively and clearly. Respond well to questions with patients, physicians/ mid-level providers and co-workers.
