Primary Purpose: Provides high quality instruction in field of expertise to ensure students meet course and programmatic outcomes. Collaborates with college administration, staff, and colleagues to improve students' learning experiences. Clinical faculty may participate in research or other scholarly or creative activities. Provides service for the benefit of internal and external communities. Collaborates with College of Pharmacy administrators, staff, and colleagues in the pursuit of its mission and vision.

  • Must be licensed to practice Pharmacy in the State of Florida.
  • May be subject to criminal background check and drug screening prior to placement at practice site.
  • Doctoral or Terminal Degree
  • One (1) year of post-doctoral/residency experience OR three (3) years of academic/clinical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides high quality instruction in field of expertise, ensuring students meet course outcomes.
  • Plans, evaluates, and revises curricula, course content, course materials, and methods of instruction.
  • Selects and obtains materials and supplies, including textbooks and laboratory equipment.
  • Prepares materials for laboratory activities, if assigned, and course materials, such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
  • Identifies specialized materials for outside reading assignments.
  • Initiates, facilitates, and moderates classroom discussions.
  • Assists students who need extra help with their coursework outside of class.
  • Maintains student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
  • Evaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory and clinic work, assignments, and/or papers.
  • Compiles and administers necessary course and programmatic assessments to ensure compliance with College and University standards.
  • Maintains regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist students.
  • Advises students on academic and experiential curricula and on career issues.
  • Acts as advisor to student organizations, ensuring adherence to college and university policies and procedures.
  • Teaches in an interprofessional environment.
  • Teaches in an environment conducive to distance and remote learners.
  • Assesses clinical education needs and patient and client teaching needs using a variety of methods.
  • Coordinates training programs as needed.
  • Maintains a clinical practice as assigned.
  • Demonstrates patient care.
  • Precept students on their experiential learning experience.
  • Works collegially in an interprofessional environment.
  • Conducts research and/or scholarly activity in a particular field of knowledge and publishes findings in professional journals, books, or electronic media.
  • Writes and submits grant proposals to procure external research funding.
  • Participates in peer-review activities related to grants and manuscripts for publication in journals.
  • Supervises undergraduate or graduate or professional students’ teaching, internship, and research work.
  • Participates in campus and community events, such as giving presentations to the public.
  • Actively identifies opportunities and provides service relating to fields of expertise for the benefit of internal and external communities.
  • Provides professional consulting services to government or industry is encouraged.
  • Remains current in specialized areas of practice, illustrated by attending professional conferences, maintaining appropriate certifications and licensure, and maintaining affiliations with networks and association of scholars in field of expertise.
  • Attends faculty development programming both internally and externally.
  • Collaborates with staff, administrators, and colleagues to address teaching and research issues, and to improve students' learning experiences.
  • Advises individual assigned students to the best academic, professional, and personal ability possible.
  • Serves on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues.
  • Participates in student recruitment and retention.
  • Mentors junior and adjunct faculty members as needed.
  • Keeps abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.
  • Attends graduation, convocation, white coat ceremony and other assigned college activities as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
