About The Position

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a member of the Texas A&M University System, welcomes applicants for a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing to begin Spring 2026. TAMIU is a Hispanic Serving Institution with over 8,000 students located in Laredo, Texas, a vibrant and bicultural city with a population of about 250,000. The university advances knowledge through research and discovery, teaching and learning, community engagement and public service, and with an intentional focus on student success and research excellence. This is a full-time, non-tenure track, 9-month academic faculty appointment. Primary duties will include teaching assigned nursing courses; supervising student clinical experiences; evaluating students' progress in course work and clinical experience; completing all administrative aspects of courses taught; advising students throughout their program of studies, as appropriate; and planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the curriculum, as appropriate. Duties also include serving on and participating in college and university committees; and providing service to the community and profession. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.

Requirements

  • Earned master's degree in nursing
  • Two or more years of clinical nursing experience
  • Current unrestricted/unencumbered license to practice registered nursing within the state of Texas
  • Advanced practice nurses must meet and have all certification required for the specialty
  • Earned doctorate in nursing from an accredited university (strongly encouraged)
  • One or more years of teaching experience in higher education
