About The Position

The Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences seeks applicants for a Clinical Assistant Professor within the Online Master of Social Work (MSW) program. The MSW program prepares students to be future leaders in the field that have a positive impact on social and economic justice, human rights and quality of life for diverse populations. The online MSW curriculum combines didactic and competency-based learning delivered in an asynchronous format. FDU MSW's advanced generalist specialization provides the theoretical and practical base necessary for social workers to work effectively across systems with populations navigating complex challenges. The program promotes active participation of faculty, staff and students in practice, service, advocacy, and interprofessional collaboration. This position is responsible for teaching four online courses per semester and will report to the Program Director of the Social Work program. This position requires the active participation in departmental and school-wide meetings as well as the ability to have an in-person presence on campus, as needed by the department. The mission of FDU's MSW program is focused on producing competent professionals to serve diverse clients and systems while promoting social and economic justice and enhancing human rights for oppressed and vulnerable populations in various geographical locations. The MSW program strives to enhance the overall well-being and quality of life for all individuals and communities through the application of evidence-based practices and scientific inquiry. The education and training provided will reflect the purpose and values of the social work profession. Requirements

  • A master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited institution
  • Two or more years post MSW practice experience with a preference for expertise in macro-level social work in areas such as program administration, policy advocacy, community organizing, leadership, or systems-level practice
  • Experience teaching within higher education
  • Interpersonal skills to build and manage partnerships inside and outside the program of social work, the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and the University at large
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with faculty and university administration
  • Familiarity with teaching and delivering content using online modalities
  • Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card

  • Preference given to those with a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching
