About The Position

The College of Veterinary Medicine’s Department of Comparative, Diagnostic, and Population Medicine at the University of Florida (UF) invites applications to join our Veterinary Forensic Pathology service as a full time, clinical track faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor in Veterinary Forensic Pathology. The individual will participate in and support the teaching and service activities of the Veterinary Forensic Sciences Laboratory and will be expected to develop and participate in collaborative research. Teaching responsibilities will involve didactic and clinical training of professional students and residents, continuing education training, and graduate student/fellow mentorship and education. The Veterinary Forensic Sciences Laboratory is an internationally recognized leader in veterinary forensic science and provides service to a multitude of governmental and non-governmental agencies. The University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine is ranked as the #5 College of Veterinary Medicine in the US and is the only one that is part of a top 5 public research university. The College of Veterinary Medicine is located on a campus in close proximity to the College of Medicine and numerous other Health Sciences units that provide ample opportunities for translational research and collaboration. Requirements

  • DVM or equivalent degree from an approved institution
  • Completion of a veterinary anatomic pathology residency training program or equivalent training
  • Eligible to take the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) Phase II Certifying Examination
  • Experience in veterinary forensic science and/or veterinary forensic pathology
  • Ability to independently sign out cases

Nice To Haves

  • ACVP board-certification in anatomic pathology is preferred.
