About The Position

The responsibilities of this non-tenure track 12-month Clinical Assistant faculty position include teaching, mentorship, and service. Faculty member will provide engaged instruction; develop curricula using repository of CoNAH and FDU resources; assess student learning; supervise activities in experiential learning settings, advise and support students, ability to manage sensitive issues with decorum and confidentiality. This faculty member will also be the Director of BS in Respiratory Care Program which focuses on the development, implementation, planning, and evaluation of the program to prepare students as respiratory therapists. Administrative responsibilities include recruitment efforts, collaborating on the development of new program tracks, and representing the interest of the Henry P. Becton College of Nursing and Allied Health to both internal and external stakeholders. Applicants applying for this faculty position will be evaluated for Director competencies and may be appointed to this position on an annual basis, depending on program needs.

Requirements

  • An earned master's degree in respiratory therapy, Health Sciences, Education, or a related field.
  • Clinical and didactic teaching experience.
  • Understanding of CoARC program requirements and student evaluation requirements.
  • Experience in student instruction/clinical education/mentorship.
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist certification.
  • Employment is contingent upon satisfactory background check.
  • Candidates for hire will have to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security card.
