About The Position
This Clinical Assistant will be responsible for various tasks including collecting, verifying and recording required information according to established procedures and instructions. The role involves assisting the Registered Nurse with completing medication prior authorizations and maintaining the prescription medication refill line/message pool. The Clinical Assistant will also communicate with pharmacies over the phone for any prescription medication follow-up as needed, draft letters as requested by the patient/family for the Registered Nurse's review, and collect and organize medical records, information, materials and supplies required for admissions or encounters. Additionally, the Clinical Assistant will prepare requisitions and other standard forms as requested by clinician or supervisor, record and forward messages, triage calls for urgent information or services, and respond to requests for routine information or assistance within their scope of knowledge and authority. They will also initiate calls for emergency services as required.
