Cleveland Clinic Community Care offers experienced Internal Medicine physicians skilled in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of adult disease and conditions. No matter how common or complex the medical condition is, our Internal Medicine teams work in collaboration with other Cleveland Clinic specialists to coordinate and manage care. By joining the Vero Internal Medicine team as a Clinical Assistant, you will provide professional nursing care to patients within this practice. You will room patients, assist with setting up refills on the computer, obtain referrals and give injections. This position is a great introduction to the Cleveland Clinic enterprise before exploring further our numerous educational or professional development opportunities. A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM – 5:00PM.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Program
- Current Florida licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- Knowledge of Infection Control Practices
- Computer literacy

Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to patients as appropriate.
- Provide accurate medication administration and nursing documentation such as medical records, authorization forms and laboratory requisitions.
- Implement pain management assessments and documentation.
- Recognize changes in patient status and report pertinent information to Charge Nurse or Physicians.
- Recognize and follow through with nursing intervention.
- Maintain complete and up-to-date documentation and files at all times.
- Perform patient teaching as needed under the supervision of RN/Physician.
- Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.
- Follow Code Blue protocol as per clinic policy.
