About The Position

The Clinical Assistant at Charlotte Eye Ear Nose and Throat Associates (CEENTA) plays a vital role in providing both clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and compassionate care to patients. This position is essential in maintaining the smooth operation of the clinic, which serves a high volume of patients. The Clinical Assistant is responsible for greeting and rooming patients, obtaining and documenting their medical histories, chief complaints, and vital signs. They also reconcile and document patient medications and allergies in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, assisting providers during examinations, treatments, and in-office procedures as needed. In addition to direct patient care, the Clinical Assistant prepares and administers medications as directed by the provider, collects laboratory specimens, and acts as a scribe when necessary. They are responsible for explaining treatment procedures to patients and their families, responding to patient inquiries and prescription refill requests, and managing provider schedules within the EHR system. This includes scheduling appointments, surgeries, and maintaining work queues in the EHR system. The Clinical Assistant also ensures that clinical rooms are properly set up and sterilized, assists in training new staff, and maintains compliance with OSHA standards to ensure a safe and sterile environment. The role requires a high level of precision in judgment and problem-solving, especially in emergency situations. The Clinical Assistant must possess strong communication skills to effectively convey information to patients and their families, as well as to collaborate with the clinical team. They are expected to maintain a high level of energy and attention to detail, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. The position also involves physical demands, such as assisting with moving patients and clinical equipment, and requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
