Requirements
- Clinical Assistant HSD or GED are required.
- Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Medical Assistant certification by AAMA, NHA, AMT or NCCT is required.
- Must be a graduate of a post-secondary medical assisting education program accredited by the National Healthcare Association, or its successor; by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association, or its successor; by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools, or its successor; by any accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education. The accredited post-secondary medical assisting education program must include courses in anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, pharmacology, medical laboratory techniques, and clinical experience.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Current SC LPN License
Responsibilities
- Ensure patients and patient care areas are prepared for examinations and procedures
- Assist providers with all aspects of direct patient care with training and demonstrated competency.
- Other tasks involved in patient care, such as messages, referrals, and scanning.
