About The Position

The Clinical Assistant works in our outpatient sports medicine clinic right alongside our outstanding team of Doctors, Physician’s Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners. As a Clinical Assistant, you will use your background to help prepare patients and their electronic medical record for the physician, facilitate the doctor’s orders, and communicate patient injuries and conditions to the provider. Successful candidates will also support the physicians and midlevel providers with their clinics by assisting with suture removal, injection preparation, and brace fitting. Other duties of the Clinical Assistant involve scheduling surgeries and follow up appointments, providing patient education (both in person and over the phone), and documentation of office visits and patient communication. This position does require traveling to all 5 of our locations weekly. On the job training is provided. The primary focus of this role is on our patients in the clinic setting- Monday through Friday, with no late nights, holidays, or weekends. For our Athletic Trainers, we do coordinate outreach opportunities with local sporting events that are available for additional compensation which take place outside normal clinic hours. Compensation is based upon experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education preferred
  • Licensure or Certification in one of the following types:
  • Athletic Trainer: BOC certification AND State of Tennessee AT license
  • Registered Nurse: State of Tennessee RN license
  • Licensed Practice Nurse: State of Tennessee LPN license
  • Medical Assistant: Certification or registration through an accredited national institution
  • Proficiency using email and interacting with Internet applications
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to perform patient education duties

Nice To Haves

  • Medical assisting training preferred
