Clinical Assistant 7C Surgical Acuity Adaptable
About The Position
This is a 33-bed unit for surgical patients who could be higher acuity/progressive level care, known as an acuity adaptable unit. It is created using PFCC principles to care for patients and their families through the continuum of their hospital stay. This unit is the perfect opportunity for seasoned and new graduate nurses, as you will have the opportunity to create your own shared governance model within the unit and be instrumental in helping to set the culture! It is a major academic and referral center with Level I adult and Level II pediatric trauma designations. The advanced capabilities and clinical expertise within this center have earned it Magnet designation four consecutive times and has the distinct honor of housing Michigan’s first Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Completion of nursing assistant program and/or one year of nursing assistant experience preferred.
- Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support

Responsibilities
- Coordinates aspects of patient care by managing communication and clerical tasks essential to the functioning of the unit.
- In addition to communication and clerical tasks, she/he monitors and stocks supplies.
- Provides patient care and related functions as delegated by and under the direction of a registered nurse.
