About The Position

The Clinical Application Analyst optimizes the Surgical Information Systems EMR and other clinical applications, while also supporting the day-to-day clinical technology operations including new implementations, content management, training material and quality assurance. They collaborate with key operations and clinical leaders to identify and implement ongoing improvements to workflows and use of technology. The Clinical Application Analyst possesses and demonstrates an in-depth knowledge and skill in the areas of healthcare applications and related technology. They understand healthcare software, explain technical concepts to non-technical professionals, and translate administrative and operating requirements into clear, specific, and actionable curricula and then implement accordingly. The Clinical Application Analyst supports the portfolio of clinical technology applications leveraged by Georgia Urology, including Surgical Information Systems (EMR, PM, Portal, Mobile), Waystar, PACS, LIS, Lab interfaces, Dispensary, and other similar or integrated Healthcare Information Technologies.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in business, computer science, or information science or equivalent experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Must have a valid State of Georgia Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with multiple levels of staff, leaders, and Providers.
  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be well organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex tasks.
  • Experience leading projects and managing multi-departmental teams.
  • Ability to work independently and/or with a team
  • Must be flexible to participate in other IT systems duties as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Surgical Information Systems EMR administration experience preferred, but not required.
  • Waystar technical administration experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses how clinical, administrative, and financial roles interact with clinical technology to help optimize workflows as they interact with the technology.
  • Work on a clinical team to analyze workflow and technical assessments of clinical applications for optimal use.
  • Audit and train providers and clinical staff
  • Go Live support and post-implementation support.
  • Maintain and create documentation of manuals and workflows as it relates to the usage of clinical applications.
  • Participate and manage open support issues with clinical application vendors.
  • Maintain continuing education activities and actively participate in related networking and user groups to continually improve knowledge on industry technology and awareness of best of breed solutions and trends.
  • Provide support to the Systems Software Engineer and Clinical Application Manager with respect to maintaining data and reporting within Surgical Information Systems.
  • Participates in regulatory related discussions and stays current on related topics that affect Georgia Urology’s deployed clinical application software portfolio.
  • Assist the Training team as needed for developing training documentation, curricula and identifying opportunities for retraining.
