About The Position

Shady Grove Medical Center - Behavioral Health seeks to hire an experienced Clinical Administrator who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As a Clinical Administrator you will: • Models & encourages professional practice that includes nurse autonomy, authority, accountability and responsibility within their unit. • Ope-rationalizes the strategic plan for the Nursing Administration department and the hospital. • Establishes expectations for staff and appropriately provides resources for care. • Adheres to and stays abreast of organizational policies and procedures; is a resource to nurses and others in the department and organization. • Demonstrates effective communication, conflict resolution, team building, and leadership skills, acting as the patient representative during evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. • Ensures that all infection control precautions and procedures are followed in the nursing department. • Conducts hospital nursing unit rounds to monitor census and staffing. Makes recommendations when appropriate. • Conducts daily bed huddles in Nursing Administration with nursing and bed-control staff to provide an overview of the current status of the hospital including admissions, surgeries, transfers, and discharges to facilitate throughput. • Investigates and assists in the resolution of significant events such as: near misses; adverse events; patient/family complaints; and, any situation that affects the safe delivery of patient-centered care in a timely manner. • Executes all other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of an Associate of Science degree required, Bachelor’s Degree required, MSN preferred.
  • Valid Maryland RN license required
  • Five years’ work experience in acute care setting, 2 years in a leadership position
  • 2 years of supervisory/management experience required
  • 2-3 years' experience in inpatient behavioral health setting preferred
  • Certification in department-specific area within the first year of the position
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

  • 2-3 years' experience in inpatient behavioral health setting preferred
