Respiratory Care Adjunct Faculty are responsible for implementing the clinical component of their assigned respiratory care course. This includes participation in scheduled on-campus skills labs, referred to as Bootcamp (four consecutive 8-hour days per semester, held Wednesday through Saturday), as well as one 8- or 12-hour clinical day per week at their assigned clinical site. Faculty support the attainment of student learning outcomes by providing clinical supervision, instruction, and evaluation in both lab and clinical settings. The role of adjunct respiratory care faculty is to guide and mentor students through the Respiratory Care program and prepare them for RRT credentialing through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). In addition, adjunct faculty promote the development of clinical reasoning and sound judgment through active instruction in communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making. This position's responsibilities are carried out at both the clinical site and in the laboratories at Labouré College of Healthcare, based on scheduled competencies and activities.
