The specialist follows appropriate procedures based on anticipated disposition and obtains complete insurance information, including the insurance company name, applicable phone numbers, employee name, date of birth, employer, and subscriber ID number. They verify insurance through online resources and provide this information to Patient Access Services for verification. Additionally, the specialist collects demographic information to initiate the registration process and provides patient information to Patient Assessment Services and the Bed Board Facilitator regarding possible admissions, documenting any anticipated insurance impact in Teletracking. The role also includes scheduling patients in CERNER for Partial Hospital Programs based on admission criteria and availability, collaborating with various departments to efficiently schedule patients, facilitating inpatient admissions, and providing referral information to patients and providers. The specialist works with various computer programs and office equipment, maintains required competencies through training, and participates in supervision and communication with department administrators.
